CAC is the large (3in.) black pastic tube that goes from the intercooler to the intake. The Y turbocharger inlet pipe is located between the turbocharger, and the firewall. The left, and right exhaust manifolds converge into the Y pipe.
There is a TSB with a procedure to first warm the engine up; shut it off; remove the EBP, exhaust back pressure sensor; hook a 'smoke machine' up to the EBP tube in place of the EBP; look for leaks. If leaking between the exhaust manifold(s) and head then install exhaust manifold gasket(s) where none originally exist.
CAC, charge air cooler; Intercooler to us normal folks.
No, the intercooler pipes, most commonly the one from the intercooler to the intake have a tendency to blow off.
The Y pipe is where the exhaust manifolds converge into a single outlet to the turbocharger. These pipes are convoluted (similar to the hook up on a gas stove), to allow the pipe to be flexible, thus the possibility of cracking.
