My contractor buddy kept getting tractors stolen, and about the only thing you can do to disable a diesel is kill the fuel shutoff solenoid. So I tried to design the simplest, cheapest thing I could that no matter what would keep someone from driving the tractor off. (John Deere uses like 3 keys and anybody can buy them.) The relay is that really common general purpose Bosch(?) relay all the car alarm shops have. They handle about 30A and cost like $5.00 (wholesale?)and have a nice little plug in harness. Rat Shack has the normally open reeds for about $5.00.

Kinda, I think I blew up the house wiring with my erector set when I was about 7. Thanks

brown that one goes along with something I seen happen wasn't on purpose but had a friend that someone put suger in his gas tank only one of them, and he didn't bother to take the tankout to flush it out, well about a month later some kids decided to syphon some gas and put it in thier car, only went about 3 blocks. Same thing my grandfather used to carry 2 5gal gas cans, and living in AZ he kept getting the gas stolen they would actually put the gas cans back though guess they figured he fill them back up and they could steal them again, well he did only with water found the 2 mexican kids about 1/2 block away with a car that wouldn't run. Best part was teh idiots called the cops, and wanted him charged with vandilism for putting water in gas cans that stopped thier car, cops looked at them, talked to grandpa for a sec, and promptly arrested them for theft. Bad part about that was the only reason they said that they couldn't do anything to grandpa was cause the cans didn't actually say gas on them they were the old military style steel jericans, and actually told him that he was lucky cause if they had said gas then the thieves would have the right to expect it to really be gas (now tell me there isn't someting wrong with our justice system)

just put a push button near the dimmer switch, under the floormat so that it looks like you're resting your foot near the dimmer switch.

We must have grown up in the same room... Those erector set motors don't run on 110. I blew the breakers a number of times welding with 110 about the same age. My mother was afraid to come into my room for fear of being electrocuted. I took apart everything and it seldom went back together the same.

My neutral safety switch is very finiky. I was going to adjust it but its a good anti-theft as it is. You have to position the gear selector just right in order to start the truck.
And...always park next to a better more expensive vehicle. Given a choice theives will go fo the nicer truck and leave mine alone!

The reed switch idea is cool! I installed a tiny one on my camry in the rear window for unlocking the doors. I keep a magnet stuck under the wheel well to open it. I did this because (like a moron) I kept locking the keys in it .

For anti theft, I pull the wire off the electric fuel pump. I've tested it several times myself.

K.
