body swap ?

I have a 74 250 4x with a few whiskey dents and some rust. I just purchased a decent bodied 78 2x. I know the highboy frames are narrower than the lowboys but how do the cab and box bolts lineup ? I also wanna get rid of the sloshing gas tank behind the seat and I am guessing the one behind the rear axle in the 78 wont fit. I am working out of state and cant throw a measure stick on em. Thanks

body swap ?

the front cab mounts will work. you have to redrill the rear cab mounts and the bed bolts. i am working on the same thing, havent found a tank yet.

Ford changed the frame rail spacing in 1980 to be wider. I have a 78 D60 front axle in my 70 and it works just fine.
