Wow sorry if i sent you on a wild goose chase under your truck.
No problem there i was following the instructions in my Haynes repair manual which
didn't mention anything about not having a drain plug in certain models.
Incomplete info i guess.
My small town dealer said they have never seen a Powerstroke that didnt have a drain on the Torque converter, But I have heard of several.
Not to change the topic here, but yes my new powerstroke is doing great,,Amazingly stronger than the old one too, although my fuel mileage really sux,,8500 miles now and so far my average is 12.4. Getting ready for oil change #3, and its going to get Synthetic this time. Still trying to keep from plugging the tuner in to it, but not sure how much longer i can hold back, dont really miss the power as much as I miss the Mileage..With todays fuel prices I need all the help i can get, just not sure i want to jeopardize the longevity of my powerstroke with a tuner,if it really makes any difference in longevity, and That $10,000 engine assembly is still fresh in my mind too..!!
Thats a good question,,I have no clue,, i just always get mine good and snug and it hasnt leaked yet.. Its just a little square,4 sided plug,, probably a 5/16 thread and hole.
