No spark

Can a neutral safety switch prevent spark, but allow cranking of the engine?
I swapped a 1970 f-100 body to a 76 f-250 frame. Now i have a 360/4speed instead of a 240/auto. anyway, the 360 ran great before the swap, but now cranks with no spark. I'm using the 76 wiring harness, but just have it slaved in(all the engine stuff is hooked up, but not the lights, interior stuff, etc.)
I got a diagram and checked my wiring between the ignition module, dizzy, coil, and relay. Any suggestions? yes, i've searched too :-)
thanks a ton

NO

I do not know if I follow you here or not.

Where did you get the Distributor?

I take it you have the Duraspark II system. Was it working on the donor before you took it off?

Do you have 12 VDC on the BATT wire of the coil in the run and start modes with the BATT wire off the coil.

How about the Red (RUN) and White (START) wires on the Ignition Module.

If you have the above voltages, it should run. You have just probably forgotten to hook something up somewhere. Easy to do.

Here's a diagram of a duraspark II system.

to clarify, the entire duraspark II system is the stock 76 for the 360 ci motor.

i do have correct voltages on the red and white wires.
a guy here at work said he had a problem with not getting power to the distributor, so i'll chefck that out tomarrow.
Thanks for the help
Brian

Thanks everyone again. I ended up getting odd ohm readings, so i shook the harness. Bad, Bad, Bad. 30 years is hard on wiring. I ended up using that diagram above and re-wiring the engine with a new pickup in the dist and new ignition module. Runs like a champ.
Thanks for the info.
Brian

BTW-Whats the best places you've found for wiring diagrams. I'm used to aircraft tech data(active duty Air Force), so the chilton diagrams leave a little to be desired to say the least. Haynes is good on my 76 280z, but not so good on these trucks.

I have never bought one of these, but it says it has the factory wiring diagrams in it, so I don't think you are going to get better than that.
