Just got done putting in a new O2 sensor, new cap and rotor, new spark plugs and 8mm wires. Went to start it up and I heard it missing a cyllinder, so I shut it down and found out I forgot to plug a wire into the distributor lol.. oops. Got that fixed and started it, and it was pretty quiet! After that, I went to open the hood and this white steam/smoke came out. Looks like now that every thing is replaced it's firing hotter, so the smoke was from some grease on the exhaust manifold.. it's all better now though. I can tell a huge difference in power, almost like there's a new engine. The rotor was pretty jagged looking. Hopefully I'll get better than my 12 mpg now.
Its about time you tuned that beast up!!!
Yep the exshult temp has going up so the oil that has leaked out is burning off.Mine did that after I did the tune up.
Just one more thing to do .Clean the TB..get some sensore safe TB cleaner to clean it.You can do a fair job with it on the engine but I would take it off, also you then can clean the upper intake some to. Take the ICU off and clean it to .
I've already cleaned the TB, and cleaned the filter element (washable cone type). Now I need get some cold air for the filter so I can have true CAI, add headers, new lifters, new head, a new cam, and a chip. I think I'll be doing good by then.
