Reduced backpressure means lower EGT's, faster spoolup of the turbo, and maybe a tick better fuel economy.

Plus the "noise" of a straightpiped PSD is a pretty sweet sound IMO.

The straighter... the better! Its such sweet music, and yes there will be a performance gain.

Besides the lower EGT's and faster spoolup of the turbo... The Head Turns you get driving down the road of the roaring PSD THATS THE BEST!!!!

I love my straight piped PSD! The Turbo Is Music to my ears!!!

I had one but lost if let me see if i can get it... (i know that doesnt help right now) I get up somewhat early too...I used to feel bad but its no worse than the garbage truck with his loud squeaky brakes!! The only thing i have heard from one
person is they say "i always know when you are coming and going"

I always liked the bumber sticker that said "Loud pipes save lives"

Wow Kabcpapc, that sounds sweet. I have a stock '02 7.3 backed by a 6 speed thats still on waranty, if I cut the muffler out & installed a straight pipe in it's place is there any need for me to reset anything or have any adjustment or computer reprograming? I don't want to get into chipping or programming changes unless I have to.

Nope. Nothing changes except the truck runs a little better.

I had a 7.3 pass me the other day with a straight pipe and there is one sentence for it, but I would get censored. Don't want that, but man it sounded sweet. WE were cruising about 70. He passed me at about 85.

I want to do this to mine, but since the exhaust is stainless, is there anywhere that you can just order the pipe. I don't want to go to the local muffler shop and have them put one of those cheap aluminum coated thinwalled pipes on it.
