Hi I'm new
I'm New. Doesn't That Sound So Dorkey. I Came Across This Site Looking For Information On A 1979 Ford F-140 That I Was Finally Able To Get Plates On In New Mexico For The Past 3 Days. They Kept Telling Me The Title Was Wrong, That The Truck Is A 150, Which It Does Have A 150 Emblem On The Sides, But The Vin Starts With 140 And It Says F-140 On The Door Plate. I Seem To Collect Oddballs. Does Anyone Know If This Is A 140?
I moved you thread to this forum. These guys should be able to help you out. As far as I know it would be a F-150. Although it was made in Mexico...anything could happen there.
See ya on the boards!

All kidding aside. Your truck is an F-150. The F-14 on the data plate is just an indicator that it's a 4 wheel drive.
Edited to correct content (hopefully it's right now)

the F-14hped is the first part of the vin #. Do you know what the letters stand for?
Stamped into the metal tag under model # is 140. On all the other half ton fords I have looked at or owned it is stamped 100 or 150. So do you know why mine is stamped 140 or what those letters mean in the vin #?
Thanks for your help

F-14 = F-150, 4x4
H = 351M engine, 2bbl, 1977-1979
P = Assembly Plant in Twin Cities MN.
The ED is part of the consecutive build number, it should be followed by 4 numbers, that is your consecutive build number. The build numbers are the last 6 digits..
