A friend of mine just picked up a 97 F250, we went out last night and before we left he told me he was leaving the truck stock for now as I was talking about the easy mods. After blowing a couple of people away he changed his mind. So I have a few questions, will the napa 6637 filter fit on this truck? Also can I have the links to the cheap mods, like the ccv, 10k,and wastegate mod. How much of a differance dose it make when you pull the wire to the wastegate? And, any other tips?
a 97 doesn't have a wastegate so that won't help it. the 6637 will fit but check my gallery for my version that i copied from tymar. the main reason to do a ccv mod is to get the oil out of the intercoller but the OBS(old body style) doesn't ahve one but i still did it on my 95 to replace that part of the intake to open it up more. for more info there it a site by steve baz that is very goiod for mods and repairs but can't get my hands on a link.
here is a list of the mods i would start with
at very least a 3" downpipe
open element intake (6637) or tyamr
gauges
sonnax valve and tri springs
then finally a chip
yes, the filter will fit on it. i have one on my 95. you jsut need to pull the old airbox and install the filter with a piece of 4'' (i think) exhaust pipe the right length, and use a large hose clamp to hold it all together. this link has a wealthof info, can't reemember if it has the 10K mod info on it or not.... http://pages.prodigy.net/stevebaz/_i...az/index3.html
try a search for "10K" and see what it turns up. good luck
gotcha coverd on the link TJ you beat me to the punch on most of it though....i was talkin to my pretty gal while writing the reply.... tough decision....Ford trucks, or pretty lil lady that likes my Ford truck....
