I need updates people!

What have you guys and gals been up to lately? Do we have any good truck forward progress lately?

Anyone have new paint jobs, bodywork or drivetrains to brag about?

I know George is still around. Anyone see Bill, Peter, Jonathon, Lower, Jag, Kevin and the rest of the gang lately? (Sorry to the other 50 regulars I left out ) Did Penn Dick take the tarp off the panel this summer? Are Fergy, Purple and Niolon still smart alecks? How about AX's new garage? The Egyptians would be on their second pyramid by now.

I'm on pass for a couple days. Unit got certified. A week or so before we fly on over to the big sand box. My family is fine. I've been replaced by a new weiner dog puppy.

George has my correct email address if anyone wants it. I'll make Niolon copy paste this thing to an email so I can see the late responses.

Hopefully nobody here suffering from the hurricane devastation.

Hi Dwayne-

Been wondering about you and if you had deployed yet. Be safe playing in the sand.

I finally got my bed installed using the polished SS bolt kit I bought from you (nice job on the polishing). Now I'm selling it so I have some money to work on the 56 BW project I've purchased.

Stay in touch and God's Speed.

FF....great to hear from you. Been a little boring around here without you. I hate to admit it but it looks like you might have been right about the girly motors. With the price of gas now I probably won't be able to afford to drive my '53 with the BB motor, if I ever get it done. Where can I get one of those crystal *****?

I painted the frame on '51 F-4. Not much but the most I have done in a long time.

There you are, Dewayne!!! Great to hear from you! We miss you, man. We were just saying that on the Saturday nite chat.

George is doing a really great job. We are all behaving. Dick and Fergie are as irreverent as usual. B/B Ford got a new paint job. Ax still has no garage, but he's making a lot of progress on Gracie. Haven't heard from Bill hardly at all lately.

Haven't heard much from Niolon lately either. Don't know where Hueytown is relative to Katrina's path. We are all hoping he and his are fine. They've had enough problems for a while.

Be safe!

Well,

I just purchased an F-3 (1948) in "Barn Fresh Condition" that I hope to have on the road by the end of the week. I have been looking it over and cleaning all the barn stuff out of it. I had to clean out the gas tank, check the plugs and points, and a couple of other misc items. So hopefully by Tuesday Night, she will be up and running again.

Also, I met a fellow board member and had a wonderful time with him and his family at a car show this past Saturday.

Have a great Labor Day!
John

I put my front axle on the frame, then went thru the parts box and wondered why I still had 2 spring saddles in there.

Soooo guess what I'm doing tomorrow ????

Hi fatfenders

I spent most of the summer sanding bodyfiller trying to get this truck in primer before the cold weather comes (Slow Job)

I have also sorted Wipers, Heater and Seatbelts

I also met up with two guys I met on this board, Leelandy and Knightcharger who lives only 10 miles from me and has a original unrestored 1949 F2

Good luck in Iraq

Stephen

‘fenders! Great to hear from you!

Haven’t done too much on Euphemia this summer. Until about 2 wks ago, it was way too hot to even think about working out there.

Notched the frame for one of the header outlets.

Got all the brackets and accessories mounted on the engine.

Remounted the rear axle under the springs and waiting for the lowering shackles from Sac-Vint-Ford. (Remember it was slammed about 2 “ too much on the rear vs the front)

Installed a gas tank and sender unit (85-92 Ch*v Van)

Doing rear shock mounts, brake and fuel lines shortly

Waiting for the Heidt’s adjustable steering valve to come in. (Remember John Pul found this for us when we were debating the various pressures of the big three power steering components)

Spent the last three days, non-stop on the young lad’s ride – new floors, new carpeting, new upholstery, roll-on bed liner. (Did headliner and rad a wee while ago). Young lad’s ride is getting more of my time than my own!!!! One disturbing development here in the 48-60 forum – a certain member has resorted to using parts of dog dishes on his project. We’re hoping he doesn’t try to go commercial with it….

Take care (and our thoughts are with you)

RMF / Ferg

Glad to hear from you.
Since you went for certification, I pulled the tarp off, hurt my little finger and spent six years in the horsepital.
I got some new drugs from the Dr. climbed under the tarp on the panel and life is good.

Remember if the shooting starts, your head and butt should be at the same level, keep someone good at your six, and now is not the time for stupid.

Drop a line when ya can.

You and yours are in my prayers.

Crabby, Penn Dick, 4TL8Ford and Dawg.

Well i got the body all painted with the help of the wife. $25 worth of Rustoleum baby blue and several late nights it looks surprizingly really good.
The body work is rough but the paint was only to slow the rust. Also with splotches of primer the highway cops take a little more notice.
Looks real good from across the street and my wife got a taste of the work involved.
Took in 3 cars show since the painting...........I had lots of positive comments.
Got rid of the chains on the end gate, created some latches and cables.....looks way cleaner.
Pictures will be updated in my gallery

Finally got some free time to mess around with my flatty. It's been sitting for 4+ years waiting to be started back up. I got it running yesterday, but I messed up something in the carb when I rebuilt it. Typical flathead, valves stick and it woke me up when I first started to mess with it! It sure looks pretty sitting in the chassis all painted up like new.
Keep your head down and be careful over there, we want you back here safe and sound!

I havn't been around here in a while but

my biggest update in the last while and a bit is
http://home.earthlink.net/~lonnie77/...ngine/eng2.JPG
http://home.earthlink.net/~lonnie77/...ngine/eng3.JPG
3 10 inch electric cooing fans, new power steeing hoses and pump, and the marche serpentine belt setup. So basically just some engine stuff.

I still have a ton of parts to put in, my newly reabuilt rear end with a lsd in it is sitting on the garage floor, just hanging out with some shocks, and other fresh suspension bits. (still staying with solid front axle though) It's tough to bring myself to go outside while it's over 100 degrees.
