Question I need to siphon from my 2001 F-150ASAP

i am from Mississippi and there is no gas for my generatoer. i have 3/8 tank in my 2001 Ford truck but i can't get the hose into the tank. Please help me i am a widow and alone and almost out of gas for generator. thanks i need ansqwers ASAP. my truck is a 2001 Ford F-150 XLT my hose goes into the neck but it seems to be hitting something and when the hose comes out it's dry what am i butting into? is it a screen? i don't want to force it if it will hurt my truck.

I think this may be a major problem - most gas tank fillers have "anti-siphon" baffles in them to prevent just that. Someone jump in here if it ain't so....

There's a vent hose in there that if you remove it, you won't be able to properly fill the tank again until it is replaced. You may be able to disconnect the line from the fuel filter, put the line into a fuel can, and cycle the key a few times so the fuel pump pushes the gas into the can. You'll probably get a quart from every cycle of the key.
