You won't be disappointed. I live in So Cal but venture to the local mountains and desserts. Snow and sand go better with all four churning.

Now comes the tough part, the part that 80% of the 4x4 owners never do - learn how to drive a 4x4. They have more traction to accelerate, but they also have the same stopping traction and can swap ends easier than a 4x2. Ultimately, a 4x4 has the worst handling characteristics of both a front and rear wheel drive. Learn to drive it and you can learn to go almost anywhere through almost anything. Don't learn to drive one correctly and you'll have 4 tires digging holes.

Just MHO, but I've outdriven many 4x4s without ever pulling the lever.

I recommend you go to Moab and learn to drive the slickrock there. That's good 4x4 training. And fun!
