I HAVE A NEW BATTERY AND ALTOR-
PLEASE HELP I HAVE NO WAY TO GET TO WORK AND A VERRY TIGHT BUGET
I'm have the same issue as the original post. I have an '02 F250. And have the clicking noise underneath the dash. I can feel the relay clicking when the truck is on. BUT WHEN I APPLY THE BRAKES, the clicking STOPS!??? I replaced the relay and it's still clicking? I'm at a loss! Help!
Happened to me two days ago, the bad battery (one was brand new anyway) and its good as new. When you apply the breaks the relays stop clicking because it takes the juice from the batteries to work the lights, try turning your headlights on and see if it does the same thing. One of my batteries was shorted out and making 1300 CCA (rated for 1000 CCA). The relay 1 is for interior lights trying to come on but not being able to due to lack of power. I think this cold weather is eating our batteries. Get batteries tested and see if they are in check, I had one good one and actually kept it it had 980 CCA.

Reason: typo
Yeah I'm hoping it's not the batteries, they're not that old. (Sep '10). I did test them with a voltmeter with the truck running. One was 14.26 the other was 14.33. Which means the alternator is working. I probably need to have them load tested.

My opinion is bad connections to batteries or bad battery(s). The clicking under the dash is the truck telling you it has a low voltage start-up issue.
Did a load test on the batteries-they are fine. I'm stumped!
my 2000 f350 does this as well , clicking noise at EVERY junction from the key to the starter, dash box, below sterio, the 2 blk fuses just past fire wall, the solenoid in the center, the one on the passenger wheel well and the starter, all in unison with the dinging open door alarm , and the dash lights flashing.....windshield wipers go off too. whats the deal??
