zoodad mod... modified..?

i was at work today.. thinking about the zoodad mod i want to do on my mule this weekend... i was putting a 10' throtle cable away when i got an idea for modifying the zoodad mod... is there a way i could install a hinged cover that i could open or close, (depending on the weather and wether i needed the cooler air or not), using this throtle cable...? any ideas or suggestions on what i might use..?

I think a choke cable would work pretty well for that, but I really don't see a reason to do it.

well, if you look at the big rigs around here in winter, they cover up most of the radiator inlet to help the engines get to and stay at operating temperatures... now.. if it is cold out and i'm empty i won't need the cooler air, but if it is cold out and i'm plowing... a little more cool air under the hood wouldn't hurt... also, i know the guys on here have said no rain gets in, but i would like my setup to funnel the air in, so if i'm running down the road in the summer and i hit one of those sudden downpours, i can close it till it stops raining then open it up again... it would be a zoodad mod that you could turn on or off with a simple pull on the cable..! question is.. what to use for the door..?

It's basically a huge door hinge. Just big enough to support a very large gate. That would make it big enough to cover the zoodad passage.

would this be big enough to act as a deflector...? by this i mean if i mounted it so that the hinge was on the passenger's side, next to the radiator, and when i would open it, it would deflect the air straight into the zoodad opening and then right into the stock air passage that runs right beside the battery and goes to the air filter...

Sort of like an air scoop? Yeah, that's a good idea.
Another idea that just came to me is from my trailer. I have electric dump valves instead of manual for the waste water tanks. You might look into adapting one of those with a switch on the dash for open or closed. Be kind of bulky though and most likely would not fit.
