sidepipes
sidepipes
Hey all,
I spend most of my time in the '67-'72 forum, but I have an exhaust question. I have a '69 F250 with a 460. I need to replace the exhaust system starting with the manifold. (I'd like Hedders, but the budget won't stretch.) This is a true dual set-up with no cats, of course. I've got new (used) manifolds and I want to put sidepipes on. I have a second gas tank in the bed and it causes problems with routing. Are 80 inch sidepipes gonna fit or should I go with 70 inch? I don't want to be too loud 'cuz noise is a pull-over offense and I live in a large metropolitan area. Will 70 inch sidepipes be that much louder than 80 inch?

What brand are they and what do they have for mufflers in them? You can run your pipesd from the manifolds out under the frame and along the outside to the sidepipes, then the tank plays no part in the routing. the pipes will come down to just behind the radius arm mount on the frame. You could probly put a glasspack under the cab before each sidepipe to tone them down too.
That was my plan. The pipes are made by Patriot. I saw them at Summit. They basically are one six-sided louvered core glasspack muffler. I was just wondering the difference between the lengths.
