Mine had weird idle problems.. 2000 3.0... I finally took the time to re-time the cam synchronizer and it's all better.
It was out only about 1 or 2 degrees.. not enough to set a code.
This is not a job for the average person to do, unless you have access to an oscilloscope... And the positioning tools you can use to set it aren't always 100% right on the money.
