Rich Running '85

We just got our son his first vehicle...a 1985 F150 XLT with the 5.0 EFI. There are several items that need some attention, but overall it is in pretty good shape. It runs pretty well, except it runs rich. At idle it is rough but smooths out immediately off idle. When idling there is black smoke from the exhaust that goes away when the engine revs up. I am thinking O2 sensor or EGR valve. Right? Wrong? Any other suggestions? Thanks.

Pull the vacuum line off the fuel pressure regulator, and fuel comes out, that's the cause.

Also, make sure that the vacuum line to the MAP sensor is in good shape and hooked up. Low vacuum to the MAP sensor will cause a rich condition too. I would check the regulator first.
