AX,That is what I did when I cut out the cross braces to move condenser closer to the radiator, it flexed too much so I used a piece of 1/4 20 allthread . Its under the the radiator valance so you can't see it.

I looked at the pics of your f-100's, they are awsome. I don't think I'm going to modify the sheet metal a whole lot. It's alot of work. Tilt looks pretty cool. You guys have done alot of cool things with your trucks.

What might be kinda trick is double nut (or similar means) one end of the rod, so that it can swivel/pivot out of the way when you want to work on the motor and such. The other end could be fixed with something similar to a hood pin and cotter.
