Sounds to me like ford has a spring issue. Not saying that Dustin_86 isn't telling the truth, but my 05 doesn't drop anywhere near that much. He is being backed up by KarenLynnAQHA also, who seems to have a truck that is squating too much also. Then on the other side you have people that can have thousands of pounds of tounge wieght and drop only 2". I would say get the tounge weight measured on that trailer and if it is within the range that the truck can hold, and it isn't, then I would go back to your dealer, or another dealer.
What spring package was ordered with the trucks, my dealer says there are 3 different levels of spring packages that can come with the trucks when ordered..??
cfd29 - Are you sure that's true for a dually. I thought the '05 dually was full rear springs, no choice. Rear axle weight of 9,000 pounds and payload of no more than 5,800 pounds, depending upon options. Mine is 5,700 pounds. There were however choices on the front.
Barebones is correct. I did not have a choice .. duallys come with what they come with.
We have figured out the noise. It comes from the hitch hitting the exhaust. It is so wedged in there you cannot pry it apart. Dealer is fixing that ASAP .. they put the hitch in. I think he is giving us the airbags to make us happy ... he knows we are not happy!!
Im going to try and get the kingpin weight soon. When i have that i will take pics of the truck/trailer hooked and show you the difference in my hooked FACTORY '01. You wont believe it.
Ford is really rattling my cage. I could care less about a smoother ride!!! I have a $40thousand dollar grocery getter in my garage.
I bet you will be shocked ot your pin weight. We have an 05 dually that we pull an 11,000 pound gooseneck trailer with. It doesn't squat at all when we hook up. Let us know what your actual weights are. Mike.
Maybe i will be shocked but ... thats really not the point. Point is my '01 handled it flawlessly 100% factory. This new truck cannot. I dont care what the pin weight is ... that shouldnt be.
