I was at the ford dealership yesterday and they had something called a Maximizer on some of the new cars with a $395 add-on. Sales guy told me it increases fuel economy 15% - 20% but could not explain how it works. He said it was made by Vortex.
Anyone familiar with these things and do they work? Where would I get one if they do work? With gas at $2.89 here in SoCal...I could really use an extra 20% mileage gain...I drive a lot!
Kingfish, just read the PM article. I did not see where it mentioned the Maximizer. I'm gonna call Sunrise Ford where I saw them all installed and get some more info. I am skepticle but they are the largest Ford truck dealer in Cali.
Well, to be honest, the largest dealer in this area is Koon's. I wouldn't buy anything off them. That maximizer sounds suspiciously like the Tornado or Turbonater, with a large mark up.
they are trying to sell you the magnetic clip that energizes when the ignition is on. it is a total waste of money you will see no benifit at all. this has been covered and none of these fuel saving devices work.
