I know we discussed this in the past, and I'm still wondering about the 17.5 and 19.5" tire sizes listed in both the 1956 shop manual and the dealer brochure http://www.clubfte.com/users/earl/Re...aterial_1.html - Page 34a. For the 1956 F-350, these two are the only sizes listed as options in both literature sources. Hase anybody run across the 17.5 tires and wheels? Has anyone got any information that indicates you could get anything other than 17.5 or 19.5 tires/wheels on the F-350 - at least in 1956?

We had those wrenches aboard ship, in the Navy to R/R the big nuts that held the gun mounts down. I believe we called them "slugging" wrenches.

Stands to reason they'd be used on a variety of military applications. My Power Wagons use them too.

This thread came back up at an interesting time. I'm in the process of media blasting my 17" Budds that are off of the Marmon-Herrington. Turns out two have enough rim rust that it's allowed the rivets to let go and recede slightly back into the center of the wheel. Knowing that my welder wouldn't handle welding them together, I took them to a local machine/welding shop to see what they could do. They opted against welding but are gonna drive out the old rivets and set new ones. The metal is still plenty thick. It seems like a clean fix as long as the rivets are good and tight. Has anybody had this done, and how'd it work for you? Stu

Not sure what you mean by "center link". Please explain if you would.

Interesting to read an old thread like this. As regards my above post, I scrapped the idea of replacing those rivets and found some better original wheels. Safer. Stu
