actuating motor/trasfer case shifter

actuating motor/trasfer case shifter
I'm having a hard time troubleshooting my four wheel drive.Is the actuating motor the same as the transfer case shift motor??when i hit 4*4 button i hear a relay like clicking but nothing happens ,and this after replacing transfer case motor....but i cant find a picture of actuating motor anywhere?? thanks in advance ..ken
