I'm quite certain they were in the truck when delivered from the factory. The jack is a screw type bottle jack, the jack handle was a folding type crank handle. I'm not sure about the lug wrench because mine is missing. ...Terry '52 F1

They show up on eBay every once in a while. I am pretty sure they came with our trucks, at least as an accessory. The '48 F-4 I just bought had the jack still bolted down by the thumb bolt in the right corner of the cab (That's what the thumb bolt is for) and the lug wrenches in the tool tray behind the seat.

My '48 F-1 has the pieces as Terry describes -- screw jack, folding handcrank, and L-shaped lug wrench . . . just as my dad's '50 had many, many years ago.

You can take a jack from a mid 80's Ranger or F-series and it's identical, right down to the hole for the thumb screw. The early 48-49's had a jack with the flip top, so I'm told. The lug wrench is the same as a car up until 1979. The folding jack handle or cranck was used up into the late 80's in the C series cab overs. I got one new back in 1999 from Ford, it may still be available. I can check in the price book tomorrow if I can remember. The only thing you can't get is the thumbscrew. It's unique to the 48-52 trucks.
