Angry Man killed over gas!

I was just reading in the paper a man in Alabama was killed over $52 worth of gas. Apparently the guy killed, the station attendant, tried to stop a drive off by a guy driving a jeep vehicle. The guy ran over and killed the attendant.

Come on now, this guy can afford a Jeep SUV, as it was put, but can't afford to put gas in it so he runs a guy over. Come on.

That's pretty rediculous, although I bet there's more to the story than we're all seeing.

Why would there be more to the story? Man buys gasoline, refuses to pay, runs over attendant. I'm sure the 52 bucks would have come out of the attendants pocket if the poor guy was still alive.
If you can't afford gasoline for your gas guzzler, stay at home or change your driving style. Or drop some other bad habit you may have to save money so you can afford to buy gasoline.

I read yesterday that "drive offs" at gas stations have increased by ten times. Some stations have even hired off-duty cops. I would expect to see cameras snapping photos of license plates before too long.

The whole story might be the guy forgot to pay, someone (how many attendents wear uniforms anymore - unless you count nose rings a uniform) runs in front of the vehicle to stop him, and he assumed he was about to be car jacked.

Good luck finding a station nowdays that allows you to pump gas without paying first. That alone is cutting down on driveoff's.

99% of the stations in the metro Atlanta area don't require you to pay first. People have been killed over sillier things, like women and cigarettes.

Lol there isnt anything wrong with nose rings! You are judgeing someone before you even know them, I myself have met some bad people that dress all nice and even go to church, so you really cant judge somebody on the way they look. Is there a link to this story, like the newpapers website or something?

Moral of the story.........Don't stand in front of a perpetrator's vehicle. Ever! You are setting yourself up for failure if you allow someone's vehicle to go from escape method to weapon.

Generally speaking, a nose ring is either done in one of two modes - either its a valley girl "oh my totally awesome" girl or somebody who is making a rebellious "stance" in the world. Which of those two is going to be more likely working at a gas station? The motives behind that nose ring, though not definate, they are there and I worry about what it is that individual is rebelling against.

I've never been required to pay first...course this is Iowa. ^_^

In Alabama, it seems like the ones near the interstates require you the pay first or use your card more than the cities / towns do.

Sell the truck, BUY a PONY.
(Or a Jackass)

In the case of the second purchase - the two personalities would accent one another...

- We do tend to resemble our pets...

(He states, coldly...)
