New Here.need some help.

Hello, I am a new Superduty owner and could use some help. I just bought a 2000 F350 c.c. longbed 4x4 with the 6.8l ( lifted 6" w/35 bfg)I had to have the powersteering pump replaced because I couldnt steer the truck. Now whenever I apply the brakes when trying to turn (i.e) backing out of a parking spot, turning tightly when applying brakes, the steering wheel will only turn app 1/4-1/2 before it gets very tight and hard to steer. If i let of the brake it goes back to normal. My thought is that maybe the hydroboost( if it has it) has a problem.I called the place I bought it from and they said that is normal.any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
Jeff

Seems normal. Turning those big meats while not moving (or moving very slow) will be extremely difficult and hard on the steering components. I have 37s on my truck; very, very difficult (next to impossible at times) to turn the wheel while not moving. I try to never crank the wheel unless i am moving.

Hey thanks for your reply. I just found out that i dont have hydroboost but vacum boost I pulled the hose off the booster while running and was definently getting suction. My main concern was that since i just had the pump replaced that there was still something wrong.now to fix the steering wheel shimmy

I agree, it's even a bit tough with my 285s, seems perfectly normal with the larger tires.
