A shift kit is typically a modified valve body in the
transmission. It reroutes the fluid to provide firmer shifts.
Racers use it for faster shifting, truckers use it for more
control over shifting while towing or hauling.
B&M makes two popular varieties. The shift improver kit is
simply a separator plate for the valve body. The "Transpak"
is a full valve body modification with a few different levels
of intensity depending on what you want.
yeah, i have a c6 also. how much do they range from, those B&M ones that u got. is it something i can put in or do u need to take the tranny off? thanx
The Shift Improver kit runs under 30 bucks. The Transpack The better of the 2) usually runs between 60 and 75 bucks.
They can be installed without pulling the tranny, but you must remove the pan and the valvebody. It's kinda messy, but not a bad job. Just read the instuctions a couple of times before you start, that way if you run into something that you don't understand, you can get some help before you are stuck in the middle of the job.
