Welcome Fossel, there are several parts places that can get those parts for you. Mid Fifties, Sacramento Vintage and ebay.com are few places. You might want to contact Larry at Blue oval truck parts also. Good luck.

Welcome from another 56 panel guy! Lets see some pix. Mid Fifty has a lot of the panel specific parts. What's wrong with you hinges? There is very little to go wrong with them that can't be fixed.

Chech straps F-100 (56)

Hi The hinges are fine, I have some new pins coming from Mid Fifty at the moment. I will get some pics sorted. I need a pair of check straps for the rear doors. They are very unusual, I got to look at some on a 54 Panel over here in England & Mid Fiftys sent me some pictures. I think there are only about 3 Panels over here, lots of pickups. Any Ideas as to a source of second hand ones? Fosselrodder

Mine doesn't have check straps on the RD, but has metal "sliders" at the top. I believe the rear door hinges were the same from 48-56.

rear door sliders

Thats right its the sliders I am looking for. I just thought that check straps would be a mor recognisable term. I did not know that the F1 also used them but I suppose it makes sence as the back of both panels are similar. Fosselrodder

Mid Fifty sells the sliders. www.midfifty.com order their print catalog as well it's a wealth of diagrams and information. They have a great selection of restoration and hotrod parts for our trucks and are good people to deal with, they will go out of their way to help.

Acording to Diane at Mid Fifty they do not have any sliders. We did look at producing some but I need patterns to work from. They are a geat company I have been dealing with them for a while. Fosselrodder

I can take drawings off my sliders, but I wouldn't suggest marketing them at least not here, I don't know if the design is original or copyrighted aftermarket since they are chromed. They have two stop positions: approx. 90* and 180* to the body opening.
