Where can one buy/order throttle bore bushings for the Motorcraft/Autolite 2100/2150 series of 2V carburetors? I have checked vendors such as Jeffs and RockAuto as well as Advance Auto with no luck. I am no machinist by any means but figure I can drill out a new hole to tap in a bushing if it will help seal the leaks around the throttle shaft. I just need to find some bushings.
I don't know of any companies that make bushings specifically for these. One of these days, I am going to get around to making brass sleeve bushings for one of my carbs. I figure if I measure the shaft, find a piece of brass tube with the same size ID or a little smaller, drill the carb out for the OD of the brass tube, and maybe epoxy them in place or just let them ride in the bores.
Thanks Jared, I was thinking of doing the same if I couldn't find some already packaged up for this carb. Now I will have to find someplace that will carry brass tubing with the proper ID as I do not have a milling machine. Any suggestions?
Measure the bearing area of the throttle shaft with calipers or a micrometer, and then go to your local hobby shop. Most stock K&S brass tubing and shapes.
