Just curious - Mule?

I'm sorry but I would like to know why some guys talk about their "mules" when refering to their Ford truck. I have always had Ford trucks, but never called them a mule.

i think its because they can work all day long and never stop, just like a mule, very dependable, minus the floppy ears.
