Under the front bumper each side of the license plate (up on the back side)
there are what appear to be 2 of the "pal nut" type captive nuts. I asumed these were where the fog light brackets were mounted, but can't see to tell what size/type they are. They are NOT 8MM, 10MM, 1/4-20 or 1/4-28. The 10 MM came closest to fitting, but tightened up after about 4 turns. Perhaps they are the sheet metal thread type about #10 or so? Anyone know for sure? Don't want to try tightening one of them down unless I know for sure.
Hello? Someone must know ..........I took a flashlight and mirror to the above - they are the U shaped "pal" or sheet metal U shaped clips, with a fine thread (machine) in them. Still trying to determine what size ....
As soon as my truck gets back to the office, which, if the knucklehead twins aren't out joy riding, will be in about 10 minutes, I'll go out and check.
Okay, On mine an 8mm wrench fit perfectly and the thread count was 28/inch and had approx. 4 threads extruding through the back of the tab when tightened. It looks like it has 8.6 stamped on top of the bolt head. Hope this helps.
I believe that they are M6 bolts, which is the same as any of the fender bolts found throughout the truck, they are going into speed nuts so they will be tight as they exit the hole, this is normal.
