i was involved in an accedent in my 2004 ranger supercab I had hit another car in the st charles parking lot it was an off center headon impact passager to passager side hit the other cars airbag want off and i only did minimal damage to there car but my bumper has a 90 degree bend into the wheel well the tire and break roter were riped off and the fender was smashed all the way to the center of the wheel well and my airbages didn't deploy
Ford air bags are pretty smart... it just seems like it didn't determine the accident was severe enough to warrant deployment (you can't always determine the severity of an accident by looking at the damage.. what i mean by severity is the potential for bodily injury)
You don't seemed injured at all.. which tells me that airbag deployment wasn't necessary.
Just be thankful.. it saved you (actually your insurance company, I hope) several hundreds of dollars for air bag repairs!
Bummer, I had a woman back out of a parking spot once into me. Yes I saw her and stopped but she keep comming back and hit me, didn't even mark my car. she claimed I hit her and hit the insurance co for $8000...They paid it.

How can that be? In any scenario, you would have the right of way I think. The ins co. must have felt it was cheaper to pay her to go away, I assume the 8k was for "chiropractors"...
Well, if she backed into the side of your car then there's no way she could have claimed you hit her. If she backed into the front, that's a little harder to defend. They probably just settled to appease her, but she'd need a police report, wouldn't she?
I thought usually airbags required the force of a 25mph head-on collision in order to deploy? I remember hearing something about this when I was in middle school... but IMO you're lucky they didn't go off... sometimes they'll mess you up more than the accident. My friend had mild burns up and down her arms because the friction melted her acrylic sweater. I daresay she needed the airbags though, having wrapped her car around a tree...
The general rule is that if the rear of another car is damaged you the front of your car, your car was not under control..Police reports don't mean anything unless the officer SAW the accident. It was the typical parking lot with cars parked at 45 dg angles and I was going down the row when she backed out, I hit the brakes and stopped and she kept backing out of her spot and hit me. she claimed she stoped and I hit her. She had a baby in the car and claimed medical damages for the baby and her self. There was a crack in the paint of her bumper none on mine. WE agreed there was no harn no foul and exchanged numbers, that was about 10 am and she went to the police station about 6 pm and filed a police report. The first I heard about was two weeks later I got a call from her insurence co wanting to know my insurance co and that they had paid her off. I infoed my insurnce and they paid her insurance co the $8000.00
