ok i finaly bought a new truck well at least its new enuff to be injected what im wandering about is the flexplate and balencer what year did ford switch the weight of balence old to new style im thinkin about findin a core motor to rebuild for the dreded day when rods meet pan and need to no what years are compatible with 92
It went form the 28 oz to 50 oz in the early 80's, i'm not sure of the exact year though. Someone who knows the exact year will chime in sooner or later.
Is this sooner...or later? Anyway, the change occurred with the '81 model year 302. The 351W stayed at 28oz. and never did change, so you have to be careful not to put 351W flywheel/flexplate or balancer on an '81 or newer 302.
oh id say much later about another couple years just like to plan ahead so i can find cheap parts my last one took 6 years to build but only cost me around 200bucks didnt ford also switch over to all 302's being hyd roller after a certine year
