I might sound crazy here, so here I go. Lately I have been feeling warm air rising from under the dash/floor on the driver's side. I do not have the heat or air on. It feels like heat from the engine compartment, is that possible? by the way I have a 2004 Expedition XLT 4x4. Any help will be appreciated.
You may have a bad ignition switch or multifunction switch heating up on you. While your truck is on, put your hand by these to see if heat is radiating from these area's. You may want to check the grommets in your firewall to see if one may have fallen out somehow.
I do remember when I took my expy in for ac service I found a round rubber gasket kind of item laying on the floor. I was smart enough to keep it. I think I will look under the dash this weekend and see if this grommet is the one that may not have been replaced by the service tech. Thanks for the info. By the way where would the grommet hole might be located?
At night, have an accomplice shine a flashlight under the hood of the truck, along the firewall, while you look for the light source from inside the vehicle. That should help you spot the hole.
