No heat on the drivers side
I have an '09 Plat SCREW with the dual zone climate control. No matter what temp I set I'm only getting cold air out of the drivers side IP & floor vents as well as the two rear facing vents in the top of the center console. Since I'm out of warranty I'm wondering if there's anything I can check or fix on my own without taking it into the dealer. Thanks!

The best I can do to verify is the hours noted above. Those came straight off my oasis report. My assumption is a dealer charges just over $100 an hour so you will want to get the dealer labor rate and that will paint an accurate picture.
Forewarning: if the dealer does this work take pictures of your trim fit & finish before hand. They messed up my passenger side trim something aweful when they put it back together after the repair.

I just fixed one in the old ladies 2010 Expy. I think the F150s are the same. Most people say you have to remove the dash, like I did the first time.
I had to tear her's apart twice because the the dealer gave me the wrong part. It was Sunday, so I moved the passenger side motor to this location. Then about 2 months later it went out again. So I repaired it the second time without removing the dash.
You will have to remove the following.
Front Seats
Center Console
Carpet will have to be rolled back
Rear Heat Ducts will have to be removed
The location of the motor is the RED Arrow.
You need to remove the plastic part circled in blue.
Remove the bolts at the green arrows. If I remember right, there are two on the drivers side and one on the passenger side.
There is a bolt in the middle of the back of the plastic part circled in blue. You can not get to it unless you remove the whole dash and air duct assembly.
Once the other 3 bolts are out you can wiggle the plastic part to get it to break loose from the last bolt. It will take some wiggling, twisting, and turning, but it will come out of there. Be careful not to break any of the other three attachment points off.
Once that is out of the way there are 2 bolts that hold the motor in. Remove them, and unplug it.
Now all you have to do is put everything back together.
The other 3 bolts are plenty to hold that little plastic part.
Note: I would not tighten the motor up tight. I think you need to leave it slightly loose. Just enough that there is a little play there. When I did it the first time I tightened it up tight, and it wasn't but a few days that it started clicking from time to time. I let this one slightly loose and it has been working for a month or so without a problem.
Hopefully this helps you. This is a really stupid design.

Thanks for all of the information.
I made the repair this week. It took about 8-9 working hours. The hardest part was getting the actual broken part out and the new one back in. The rest of the IP teardown & put-back was pretty simple, just time consuming.
I was pretty happy that I only had 1 7mm trim screw left over when it was all said and done. I hope I don't regret not changing the passenger side blend door actuator while I had the IP off.....
