Mike, welcome to FTE and the 1948-1960 Forum. Sorry I missed you earlier. As you have seen so far, we've got a bunch of helpful and knowledgeable folks here on the board.
I'm not an expert on the TCI or similar front suspensions, but there are a few regulars that know that area pretty well. I'm sure a couple will be by shortly to help you out.
I have a tci mustang 2 on my 48 and a 87 chevy on my 49 , the 49 drive and handle so much better then the mustang 2 and it cost $200. complete. My next truck will have a chevy front end on it ..

tci's instructions suck there is a few artilces floating around the net that i would look at before making a choice
