Lowering my '53

Need some help!! my '53 has a serious attitude, the front is slammed but the rear end sticks up. I have a Camaro rear end with the TCI leaf spring kit and I want to get the rear down a bit, not necessarily slammed but down 3" or so. What would you guys suggest.

If the rear end sits on top of the springs, you can add blocks between the springs and axle to lower it.

Without knowing what set up you already have you could:

- flip the axle
- lowering blocks
- move the hangers
- get extended hangers
- reversed eye springs
- z the frame
- mono leaf springs
- remove springs
- 4 link

There's a lot of options.

Oh, yes there's also:

- bags of concrete
- a dead aunt's piano
- a heisted ATM
- the entire HS cheerleading team
- several head of cattle
- a load of scrap iron
- a full hot tub
- etc, etc, etc

I will also mention that I saw a 57 - 60 on another site that had the axle hard mounted and running through the frame. I don't recommend that...

If you have the stock rear suspension move the front hangers to the top, get some lowering shackles from Mid Fifties for the rear, and remove spring leafs to suit your taste. I had mine down to four and it sat great and rode great. No load capacity to speak of though.
