I know I have seen a topic here that talks about gas evaporating from float bowel when hot. I think it had a fix to the problem. I cannot seem to find that thread anymore. Can anyone describe the problem and the fix?
It's a plastic/composite spacer that goes between the carb and manifold. Basically, it insulates the carb from conducting the heat of the manifold. I believe that Summit carries them, or you may be able to pick them up at a local parts store. Depending on what you have for a factory installed spacer, you may be able to just unbolt the carb, take out the old aluminum spacer, and install the phenolic one.
If its a 460 with Holley (Motorcraft) 4180 in an '83 or later see my posts in the '80-'86 Forum (search for "Hot Fuel"). What I found may also be a problem common to other Holleys.
