hey guys it's been a while. any way I want to start looking for some nice chrome or polished wheels for my 78 f-150 and I wanted to know what lug pattern and back spacing do i need to get for the wheels to fit right. thanks in advance.
I was told it was 5x5 for a 2wd and 5x5.5 for a 4wd.
Whitch seems to be right, because I tryed to swap wheels and tires off my 79 4wd Bronco and put them on my 77 2wd F-100 and they would fit.
That's what I alway heard, was the bolt pattern was 5x5.5, but I can't fit my wheel off of my Bronco to my F-100.
Both are stock and I thought they would switch right over, but didn't, I'm going try again, because I really want to switch tires.
i have a set of factory aluminum wheels off a 79 bronco and i put them on my 79 f100 2wd ,they fit no problem. the same wheels spent some time on a 76 econoline van we had also. i used to have 78 bronco steel rally wheels (factory) on my 72 f100 2wd.idont see how they wont fit your ride mbbford? they should bolt on.-billy
I always thought they were 5x5.5 and I tryed to swap tires from 4wd to 2wd and they didn't fit. I retryed today and they fit, so now I don't have to be mad about them not fitting, whitch is good news.
what backspacing do I need to get so that the wheels will clear the brake calipers on the front? and what backspacing would look good will 10" wide wheels and tires in the rear? thanks
