back up sensor

Last question of the day

I've got an '02 F-250 king cap V-10 Lariat. The back-up sensors on the bumber tend to go off at random while in reverse. They tend to do it more frequently at night and in wet or damp conditons. Is one of the lenses scratched, or damaged allowing condensation to form and therefore throwing the sensor off. Any thoughts.

Thanks again.

That could be. I live in the desert(no dew here) and have never had a problem with mine.

My back up sensers are set of by dew in the morning if I do not put the truck in the garage. They also pick up dust from dirt roads. Oh well they have saved me a bumper or two

Anyone know if these gadgets can be retrofitted? Got my truck off the lot and the guy that ordered this one missed a few items. One is the back-up sensor.

Believe it or not it came with the trailer brake controller, but not tow mirrors....

Anyway can I add the back-up sensor?

Well my sensors are far from perfect. Enen in dry conditions they will beep. I have learned to filter out what is real and just a beep.

You can easily add the back-up sensors. They drill holes in your bumber and install easily. I have them on my Toyotas and Chevy installed by local car alarm company.
