Hi all.
i have a 1976 460 out of a couger XR7 in my truck. i need a intake but cant afford a new one.
i have access to the following intakes . The #s on the
intakes are C9VE and D3VE the C9 was off of a 429 and the D3 is a 460. i was wondering what one i should use ?
thanks for all replys
For what it's worth I have read that the stock 460 4V intakes are very good intakes. They just weigh a ton. I agree with monsterbaby that they are more than likely the same and as long as they are all square bore carb set ups then flip a coin and pick one.

RTM: I remember reading the same thing about the stock Cast Iron ones somewhere too..... but darn if I recall where.
I'd sure like to get more info on them. I've thought about swaping it out w/ an aluminum "Stealth" or Offy, but wonder if it's really worth it.
If anybody has flow specs or other performance data on the stock 460 4V intake, could you please share it?
here is a thread on the network54 forum I beleive that they are discussing the CJ intakes but it will give you some idea, and why some guys say not to use them and other say why not. best information I could find on short notice. http://www.network54.com/Forum/messa...eid=1043650370
I've currently got a spreadbore stock intake with a squarebore adapter and a 750 vs Holley. Would I gain much by switching it out to a squarebore? If so, would it be worth it to go with something like an Edelbrock Performer, or is it not worth the money?
I bought an Edelbrock Performer off Ebay for $100. It's nice not having to use a spread-to-squarebore adapter anymore. It sure is nice not having to use the engine lift to take it off the motor also. The Performer intake seems to be a nice close-to-stock intake.
