fuel gauge help
anyone know a way to hook up a sunpro fuel level gauge to a 1989 ford f150 without replacing the sending unit if not how do you hook there sending unit up without cutting a big whole in the gas tank

I just pulled a site with Sunpro gauges. Does yours say you need the Sunpro Sending unit? If you have dual tanks you can check it pretty easily because the wires are easily accessible. Pull the switch out of the dash. On one side is the power transfer and the other is the sending unit transfer. The center wire should be the nuetral wire. Jumper that to your gauge on one terminal and jumper one of the other wires to the other terminal. If it doesn't work, switch wires. You might want to make sure you know how much fuel is in there so you can verify if it is correct or not.
