hello, this is my first time in here and I am a novice. i recently purchased a 1978 heavy half 4 wheel drive that had been in my family since it was purchased new. i am in the process of restoring it and I need a long bed. I live in Kansas City and I have not been able to find one locally. So i am attempting to find one on the net. Thanks, ddoll
Glad to have you on FTE! There is a Kansas Chapter located near the bottom of the main forum screen. The guys in there are GREAT and would love you to join. They probably even have a Want Ad Thread that you could post in letting them know what you are looking for.
Welcome also ddoll. I know where there is a long bed stepside that is real straight, but it would need the wood floor replaced and the guy wanted too much, $600, for it. It is good to have you check in with us. I could also steer you to some salvage yards that carry older stuff. You may also want to check the forum for your age truck just to get good information. I did have a 79 short bed that we gave to our daughter and husband. It was a good looking truck.
Welcome to FTE man, i will do some checking and see what i can come up with. Keep an eye on the thread and I'm sure someone knows where you can find one.
BTW check into joining the Kansas chapter, bunch of great guys and we have a g2g every month in KC and one in Wichita!!
The long stepside when I saw it about a year ago was in pretty good shape, but was stored outside on blocks. There was some surface rust, but it was real straight as it had come off a truck that had a firetruck unit put on the back.
"ddoll" welcome to FTE and the Kansas Chapter Forum. We do have a thread for wanted items locally and ask that everyone please use the proper thread. Please follow this link: https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/s...d.php?t=343158
