Went down to Misouri to go fishing this morning. About 150 mile drive. It was raining there, so I parked my truck at the top of a hill and proceeded to walk down to check the lake out. All of a sudden I heard a strange sound, turned back an my truck was following me down the hill. It was off of course, and the parking brake was on. It slammed into a shed and tore up the body pretty good. Now for the worse news, my 4x4 won't engage and the lights just blink? Any ideas? Electric shift motor is what I'm thinking...but I used the 4x4 just prior this morning when I was scouting out another spot...could the inmpact have done something? Needless to say I am back hoime and the truck is still sitting against a tree in MO.
Sounds like the actuator (electric shift motor). A friend of mine had a problem with his 4 wheel not engaging as well and that was the problem. He said it was a fairly easy fix and the part didn't set him back too much. Good luck and sorry to hear about the wreck.
A new bed fixed my body problem....as far as the 4x, well I"ve replaced the bad hub and next will be the electric shift motor. And the bite is on....fishing has picked up around here lately so less work and more play.
