Door ajar light staying on
My door ajar light is staying on my 2001 F-350.
I cannot find the switch that triggers this, I think that is the problem but I am not sure.I would alomost bet it is the drivers door since this is the only one used daily.
Does anyone know what needs fixed & where it is located?
What about cost?

There have been a few posts on this and I can't remember the genius who first posted the solution, but spray a liberal amount of WD-40 into the latch mechanisim on the door. This should clean it out and cure your door ajar problem. Make sure to do all of the doors.

The WD-40 trick worked for two days. I am getting ready to go on a trip & I do not have time to mess with this anymore. I took the truck to the dealer- the driver side door ajar switch went out $ 13.56 for the part, also the passenger side front door ajar switch was out- $ 13.85 for the part.
The total bill came to $ 165.55 to diagnois, r & r both switches.
Problem solved except for the extra cabbage in my wallet.

It may have been wasdted money. I had this problem on my 1999 almost 2 years ago. Flooded the latches with WD40 once and never had another problem. it seems to be a "tried and true" solution that I've seen many times on this board.

If You Push The Trip Button And Turn The Key On You'll Get The Instument Codes, Some One Had Posted The Codes On This Site. The Codes Will Till You Which Door Switch Isn't Making Contact. I'm At Work And Don't Have The Codes With Me.
