I wanted to see if some of knowledgeable guys could help me out. I have read a lot of the posts, but cannot crank my 1995 F 350 w/ 7.3 engine. It has run fine for 124,000 miles, but left me stranded an hour away from home yesterday. It will crank on ether, but has no fuel pressure on the schrader valve. The fuel filter bowl is full of fuel. We installed an electric fuel pump just ahead of the front to rear tank switch on the frame rail. It made no difference. All the fuses are good and everything is full of oil. We tryed unplugging the Injector pressure control, but that did not help. I had to pay a 200.00 tow bill and am trying to get it fixed without spending a lot of money throwing parts at it. I have the Ford powertrain diagnostic manual, but no code reader to use withit. Any help would be gretly appreciated.
A little more information might help us diagnose the problem. What were the symptoms when it quit on you?
Does the Tachometer register rpm's when you crank with the starter?
When you say won't crank, do you mean the starter won't turn it over at all, or do you mean it won't fire?
By the way, ether can be really bad for your engine, and dangerous if you have your head under the hood when the ether in the intake ignites.
If the tach. needle bounces, it's getting a cam signal. Check for a blown fuse, your fuel heater may have fried, and if it did the resultng blown fuse will not allow power to the PCM.
Do you have a good place to get it? a cps, cause if you dont, i have an intn'l dealer about 10 blocks away from me and they usually charge about $103 with taxes
