goodday folks, 1st post for me here, done alot of browsing through wicked informative posts, got me a 66 f100 with 302 3spd(maverick donor), have most of the front panels off the truck, cab is in need of major restoration, cab mounts, floors, i've already cut off the roof(think it may have been in rollover or something) and replaced with donor 65 roof. Can anybody recommend anyplace to buy panels here in Canada? I also need bumpers. thanks,
Welcome to FTE Fred, always good so greet a new member.
I can't be much help on Maple Leaf sourcing, but Ringo Fonebone certainly can altho he's much closer to Cowtown than to Ontario. There are other members here from the Great White North however, and they will chime in eventually. . . .
I'm not looking at a map and my geographical skills are even less. But Camperspecial65 has two trucks for sale and I think he reside in Seattle area; look in the classifieds for parts and even for Camperspeical65 two trucks for sale.
Also welcome aboard I'm sure as Fbp stated others will chime in and help.
Welcome aboard fredmister. I am on the west coast of B.C. This is a great site for ideas and you get a wealth of info on anything and everything. I usually will order stuff through Denis Carpenter, they will have anything you need.
Not that many Canadian sources for new sheetmetal on a "Slick", fredmister, although places like "Offshore" stock some lousy patch panels made in Taiwan that dont fit very well. Best to source to the US, Dennis Carpenter, Carolina Classics, LMC (for some parts), are good places to start.
Best yet to source to Arizona and the southern states for dry, used parts.
A word of caution.. have everything mailed to you in Canada. The Courier companies like Fedex and UPS have this giant scam where they charge you for a "Customs Broker" when you have DUTY FREE car parts sent over the border .(all car parts are duty free between Can. and the US) The cost for this scam fee can sometimes well exceed the original delivery cost. Pure ripoff to Canadian buyers, plain and simple . Best to find a place to deliver to south of the border, preferrably near the border, and go and retrieve your parts from there. Then all you pay is GST as you bring the item across. I have mine delivered to a UPS warehouse in Sweetgrass Montana. They charge me a storage fee of $3. much better than the $55 dollars "broker fees" on a switch, delivered to Canada, for example, that UPS tried to scam out of me.
Good luck , welcome aboard.. what part of Ontario are ya in?

thanks for your input fellas, i've ordered some stuff from dennis carpenter that they should be able to mail, the rest of my repair patches i think i'll make,(time and patience). I am located just north of kingston, On., so i problably could arrange shipping to a depot in watertown ny., thanks for the heads up RF on the shipping scam!
Kingston is a good location to be in for the cross border shopping thing, you are even closer to the border than me.
There is one place in Vancouver BC/Bellingham Wa. that is a Mustang store, if you order stuff on the Canadian side and have it shipped on the Greyhound it is reasonable. I got a chrome bumper from them that I bought on ebay, $120 Canadian delivered. The heck if I can remember their name..American (or Canadian?) Pony Parts maybe?
All they have for slick parts is bumpers, unless they recently expanded that part of thier biz tho.
Mac's won't deal with Canadians, and Rick at Carolina is not crazy about us either, your results may vary.
Ebay is one of your best sources. Just trying to explain the above shipping scam to US sellers is an experience to say the least. They don't like to deal with the post office.
Keep your stick on the ice..
