Depends on what you are looking for in a light. If you just want the 'neato blue' look, then this kit is probably for you. If you are looking for a more illumination in a headlight, steer clear from these kits. There are a lot of these kits on the market and they are not true HID kits. HID (High Intensity Discharge) uses a ballast to power the arc. This kit has no ballast.
Currently, Sylvania has a true HID kit for our rigs called Xenarc and I believe that Hella is working on one as well. Keep in mind that true HID arc (be it Xenon or Krypton) lighting is not cheap but the results are night and day (no pun intended).
I ran the (illegal) Bosch/Hella H4 halogen lights for many years. Sometimes got chastized by the guy at the inspection station and had to go home and change them. They are (were) legal on-road for motorcycles but not automobiles. Get the V-beam and not the Z-beam. They still beat the standard halogen replacement bulbs.
If you want to save bucks and get excellent headlights use standard GENERAL ELECTRIC Halogen bulbs (not Phillips or Wagner etc) and wire your truck with the headlight relays described in the FTE tech article: [link:www.ford-trucks.com/articles/april2002/bronco78relay.php|Headlight Relays]
