attaching engine sling I6
67 F100,I have a 4 point sling with a leveling rod to put the 240 back into the truck.Do I need to remove the torqued head bolts or use the 5/16 holes that hold the valve cover?
the maifold,carb,dist etc are on.I have it on a stand now and have a cherry picker to pick it up and put on bell housing and clutch pressure plate.Can I get the clutch centered without any special tools?

Don't use the bolts on the top, there isn't a 5/16 bolt that will handle that kind of stress. The best way to lift these engines is stripped to a long block, use the bolt hole the coil mounts on on the driver's side, and one of the manifold bolts towards the rear on the other.
