3 gauge, 2 1/16 inch, A-pillar mounts

I can only find one 3 hole pillar mount pod for my 92 F150. It is made by autometer part #17303. I looked at, temporarily held it in postion in the cab, and decided it would be too shabby to buy. It isn't a full OEM replacement for the old stock pillar, it simply fits over the old one, and that looks bad!
To add insult to injury, the speed shop wanted 80 dollars for it. Of course I could get it for less on the net, but it is not well designed.
I searched the net but it looks like this may be my only option.
Anybody have a better idea? I want to put three 2 1/16 inch autometer gauges somewhere in my 92 F150 XLT Cab

I've been thinking the same thing, not to mention the pillar gauges are kinda in your line of site and most of my driving is done at night and I think they'd bug me there....

I am going to try building a gauge box on the roof between the sunvisors, it's out of the way and I think there is room for at least 3 maybe 4 gauges..

No one makes a 3 pod for Explorers, so I had to make my own. I fiberglassed it in on the OEM pillar. Not too hard. This is the link to my page on it, and a pic of the final result. If you can get a 3 pod already, maybe glass it in?!?!?!?

Looks Good Cobra! I never worked Fiberglass before , but I thought I could buy the Autometer pillar setup, cut the gauge pods out, and fiberglass those onto my original pillar. What a hassle! ,they look good in your truck.

Thanks 924!

It is not hard at all. If you check the link, you can see a few pics of how I did it. If you end up doing yours and need a little help, let me know!

They do have the "full" pillar mounts here

3 of 7, I don't consider that a "full pillar" It will not take the place of the original, if the original is missing. It fits over the original pillar, anotherwards, you put it over top of the original, and it gets attached using very poor quality plastic rivets, only after drilling holes into the stock pillar. I had that same exact 3-pod pillar pillar in my hand and fitted it into my truck. It looks good at first glance, but perfectionists will reject it because the edges are left exposed, and there is no way to hide them.
