I have a 03 6.0 with 21000 miles under warranty that has started stalling. It has done it driving on the hwy and it has quit while idling. Once it quits , you have to turn the key off for a few sec. then it will start up and may go one mile or several hundred before it happings again. The ford dealer cant find anything wrong and no codes show up. I have a truck that i dont trust, it has quit in New Orleans twice and is dangerous to drive. Any ideas, where do i go from here. Do i try for the lemond law and let ford have it. Thanks

Just FYI: Oil Level Check Tip:
When checking the oil level on the 6.0, the vehicle must be on a level surface and the dipstick must be fully seated into the tube to ensure an accuarte reading. Do not add oil if the level is above the "MIN" line on the dipstick. Broadcast Message 1512, 1574.
Wire chaffing would be the next in line with no codes present. If your dealer did not inspect all opportunities for wire chaffing...take it somewhere else. In fact, I would do that anyway.
In answer to your lemon law question...check your states guidelines generally published on most states DOT web sites or do a search.
An '03 with 21,000 miles may have exceeded the window of opportunity. This does not mean there are not other remedies should you not be able to get a fix.
I plan on taking to a larger dealer when i get home. Maybe they will try harder than the dealer i have been using. I was hoping to get more infor from the forums. I have read on line that the cam shaft sensor could be bad too. Thanks for your help TC
I agree with kw: There is a fairly simple "quick test" for possible wire chaffing that a 6.0 certified tech showed me when I was having some issues a few months ago that can be performed with the engine at idle. A good tech should be able to make short work out of your problem. Good luck

Carefully, with the engine at idle, lift the group of wires (located on the top, front/driver's side of engine) about 1-2 inches upward and drop- Repeat again 1-2 times. The tech said, if the wires are the problem, the engine almost always dies.
Top Cat My 03 did something similar to this and it turned out to be the wiring harness that runs along the stearing column. start your truck and then find the wiring harness and move it around if its like mine then it will kill the engine. Good luck!!!!!
truck just died, no lights no warning , 2000 7.1 went to dealer (towed) need new sensor. $165.00 at NAPA , $204.00 at dealer plus $276.00 labor to install. Also got diesel service kit? $29.98 and filter $57.70 and another labor charge of $114.97
out the door $708.00. Hey my baby runs good but did I get hosed? what is a diesel service kit?
The egr valve was faulty on my 04 6.0 f250. The dealer replaced it and no more problems. It would lose power and try to die but if you shut it off then restarted it it would run fine for awhile
